Hello, hello! We have a fun recipe for you today! On our series KIDS MAKE!, we show you the simple steps for the kids follow (with adult supervision). My kids eat this by the spoonfuls for a snack and it is always a family favorite at our house. A great way to use of tart fruits or use up the leftover fruits in the freezer. Use whatever you like and enjoy making it your own.
Here is a coloring sheet to go along with this video and recipe for the kiddos.
I will be honest that I am not the best at getting my own kids in the kitchen because time and mess, but I will say, they are extremely proud to tell the rest of the family, “I made this!” as we eat at the dinner table – warms my heart. These little instances of building up their confidence in the kitchen and getting them to fall in love with good-for-you foods is an extra bonus. I share this recipe with you all so you may have a similar experience at your dinner table.
My favorite tip in this video is using a bench scrapper as a safe and easy cutting tool for kids. I added a link on Amazon. I got this for a wedding gift thirteen and half years ago and will always use my bench scrapper for this recipe. It is a must! I don’t use it to bake bread, I use it to chop fruit for the kids, ha!
